Book your aircraft charter for 2024’s "Big Four" Fashion Weeks
The “Big Four” fashion weeks bring together the industry’s biggest names in four of the world’s fashion capitals; New York, London, Milan and Paris. From models and fashion industry execs to garments and equipment, we can organise your private jet, group or cargo charter to one or all of these biannual events.
“We have years of experience managing charter flights for models, fashion industry execs and garments around the world,” says Mario Nicholas, our Vice President of Business and Development for Media and Entertainment. “With our global presence and unrivalled access to aircraft across the US, Europe and beyond, we can arrange timely and cost-effective charters to major fashion events in 2024.”
The show must go on! How we transport garments for fashion shows
“Our award-winning cargo charter division regularly works with our private jet and group charter teams to move garments all over the globe,” says Mario. “Whether it’s dresses, shoes or hats, we’ve got the expertise to transport them securely and ensure they’re delivered.
“This specialist knowledge proved invaluable when we were asked to help move 400 designer dresses, 72 pairs of shoes and 40 pairs of trousers from Milan to Paris Fashion Week. Knowing the high-value garments were too delicate to be packed onto a cargo aircraft, we sourced a passenger plane and hung up the items in the cabin.
“Our expertise was also needed by a French fashion house flying dresses from Paris to an event in Athens. The fragile clothing had to travel upright in pallets that were too tall for a scheduled flight, so we sourced a Boeing B737-400F that could hold them without damaging the cargo. Each pallet was carefully loaded onto the aircraft and the dresses arrived intact.
“Whatever you need transporting, we have charter experts in more than 30 locations around the world who will source the perfect aircraft for your requirements. To learn more about how we can manage your charter, contact your local office.”
The aircraft “in fashion” – how we source passenger aircraft to match your requirements
“The aircraft we select for a charter depends on many factors like availability, distance, budget, luggage allowance and number of passengers. While we’re adept at arranging last-minute aircraft charters, we recommend that you book passenger charters in advance so we have more time to secure the best rates on your behalf.
“We normally recommend a VIP aircraft when there are lots of passengers and comfort is a priority. This was the case when a major fashion brand recently requested a cabin with lie-flat seats for 80 models who needed to arrive refreshed and runway-ready for their Miami fashion show.
“A Boeing 767-300 VIP was the perfect choice for that particular job, but other popular options include the Boeing 737-300 VIP and Airbus A340-300 VIP. All provide luxurious seating and plenty of luggage space for garments and other equipment.
“For smaller groups who don’t want the expense of chartering a business-class aircraft, we might suggest the Bombardier CRJ-200 or Embraer E145LR, while the 30-seat Embraer ERJ-145 can be a cost-effective option for flights within the United States.”
“A private jet charter is often more economical for clients flying with a smaller party, but a nonstop flight from New York to London still requires a sizable jet,” explains Mario. “The super-midsize Bombardier Challenger 300 and Embraer Praetor 600 can complete the 6.5-hour flight in luxury for groups of eight or less, while the Cessna Citation X can cross the Atlantic about 20 minutes faster and is ideal for both business and leisure travel.
“Heavy jets like the 14-seat Gulfstream G-450 and Gulfstream IV are great choices for clients with more passengers or those who want something more spacious. The Embraer Lineage 1000 has room for up to 19 people, with five luxurious cabin zones providing plenty of space for dining, entertaining, working or resting.”
“Light, super light and midsize jets are the most popular private aircraft to charter within Europe, where many flights are under three hours long,” Mario says. “If you’re flying from London to Milan with not much luggage, our customers love the Citation CJ2, CJ3 and Phenom 300.
“For those needing more luggage space, the modern Bombardier Challenger 350 and cost-effective Hawker 850XP can fly up to eight people from London Farnborough to Milan in under two hours. Meanwhile, the French-designed Falcon 2000S and 2000LX are luxurious options for less than 12 passengers travelling to Paris Fashion Week from elsewhere in Europe.”
