In January 2022, we were asked to arrange an urgent cargo charter to transport oil and gas equipment from China to the site of a petroleum engineering construction project in Malaysia. At 12 metres long, the bulky equipment couldn’t be loaded onto a scheduled flight, so we stepped in to arrange a bespoke solution that could deliver the extra-long cargo at short notice.

Route: Shanghai > Malaysia
Aircraft: Ilyushin Il-76
The client needed the cargo delivered a week before the busy Chinese New Year period, when aircraft availability was limited. Using our superior buying power, we managed to source an Ilyushin Il-76 aircraft that could carry the extra-long consignment.
Our expert team then worked with the client to ensure we secured the necessary permits to meet the strict entry and loading requirements that were in place during the pandemic. We also worked around the clock to confirm every detail of this complex charter, from the packaging of the equipment to ground transportation.
